Diary Entry For "Of Plymouth Plantation"

Anno Domini 1637

I am a soldier in the group of men sent to attack a Pequot Fort. I am marching from Connecticut, along with many others from the same. We have been marching for some time, and are approaching our goal. Our goal is thus: a Pequot Fort where many of their chiefs are currently residing. We met up with a contingent of Narragansett Indians who wish to aid us in this war. We have now made camp, and will assault the enemy fort just after nightfall.

We have won! We rushed onto the enemy fort and overwhelmed their defenses! We slaughtered over 400 men, burned the fort to the ground, and have struck a resounding blow towards the Pequots. The Narragansetts fight fiercely, and I am glad we have allied ourselves with them, if only temporarily.
